Samlesbury Hall is my ancestral home. Sir John Southworth is my 12th great grandfather. I grew up with pictures of Samlesbury Hall hanging in my childhood home. I had the chance to finally visit and stay in the gatehouse in January 2024. Unfortunately I was very sick during my visit from the United States but the staff were INCREDIBLY kind and accommodating. They brought me food and made sure I was warm as they were experiencing below average temperatures in Lancashire. I will never forget their kindness and excellent hospitality. It’s a dream of mine to get married there. I hope one day that will come true. I couldn’t think of a better place to have a wedding. It’s full of history, character, beauty, and delicious food (the waffles are 🤤). Thank you for taking good care of and preserving my family’s home and history. Looking forward to returning one day!

We had a wonderful 3 course meal at Samlesbury Hall with friends. We were lucky enough to be seated in The Great Hall & it was decorated beautifully. The evening was organised by Sharon & we were looked after by Chester who was an absolute Superstar on the night! The food was delicious, the atmosphere lovely & the staff outstanding! Thank you for such a wonderful evening 🥂 🍷 🍻 😊

Had a wonderful evening with my wife and friends in the main hall on valentine's day. What an experience. The food was amazing, with a very attentive staff, at a beautiful venue. Thank you all especially Sharon for the organisation.

Very interesting medieval/ tuder house. I'm not big on these types of visitor experiences but I found this enjoyable. Not too big, lots to read and in places a little spooky. Free to enter. This is not a hotel. However I believe there are 26 shepherd's huts and a gatehouse that I did not visit.

Came to visit on my birthday with my best friends and joined a tour with Joanna, in which she took us through the history and supernatural of the house! It was a fantastic way to spend the day! We also had lunch at the Heritage Cafe and the food was phenomenal, the ambiance was very inviting on the rainy day and the service was wonderful. Would definitely recommend a trip here!

Excellent tour of the Hall by guide Paul. Very interesting stories brought the history to life. (Guided tours are on Sundays at 11am and 2pm for about an hour and a quarter. It's free but they ask for a voluntary donation.)

The performance was captivating from start to finish, with brilliant acting and a storyline that kept me hooked. A truly memorable evening in a stunning venue—highly recommended!”

Lovely place with very friendly staff. Christmas fair was very well organised too and it catered well for a person with mobility issues.

Came today for the Christmas fair. It was ok, the sheer volume of visitors made it virtually impossible to browse the stalls, and the cost of a turkey teacake was a joke - £9.00. Nowt like ripping us off just before Christmas
